Hacking Facebook Accounts

Hacking Facebook accounts is not uncommon and is not only used to access people’s private messages, but also for other reasons. Some of the more sinister reasons to hack Facebook include using the account to hack into someone’s account, spy on their spouse or partner, and even using the account to sell illegal drugs.

If a person’s login to their email is tied to their Facebook account, hackers might be able to gain access the account by changing the password, or by obtaining information using other methods like keyloggers. Hackers are also able to gain access to accounts using malware, such as spyware. Users must take steps to safeguard their privacy and security. This includes selecting a secure unique password, signing off of Facebook when they aren’t using it, and updating their software.

Phishing attacks are a different way hackers gain access to an account. These are often sent to the victim’s email address or phone number associated with their Facebook account. A phishing URL takes the user to a fake Facebook page or website that appears like the real one. These pages might request a login or 2FA code, and then steal the data.

A person who suspects that their account is compromised should inform their family and friends. They can change their password or closing their account on Facebook whenever they are not using it. This can be done through other social media platforms or via text or email message.
